90s Games Room

Golden Oldies

The '90s is now officially in The Olden Days. It’s a mad thing to get in your head, especially if you’re like us and still think the 1990s was "just a few years ago."

But 1996 is as far in the past as 1966 was from 1996. If ya follow... mid-century industrial Britain was the same distance in the rear view as Busta Rhymes album The Coming. Yeah, I exhaled and raised my eyes too.

That means that banger you call "classic Golden-Era" is now "classic Golden Oldie". What started off as Record of the Month on 1Xtra ends up on the Continuous Playlist on Gold Radio.

The arcade and video games from back then were full of 2D Shoot-em-ups, beat-em-ups, racers and fighters. And were wicked!

So we rebuilt some - very poorly.

So come, step into the 37th chamber, a place known only to legend as The Solo MCs 90s Games Room. The graphics are 16-bit but the struggle is High-Def fam.

Inspired by classics we love the games in the Solo MCs 90s Games Room are in no way associated with the real games or the brilliant people who made them. This is our way of saying thank you - let me know if you like them ya get me - safe 👊
